Kemptville – The first meeting of the North Grenville chapter of 100 Kids North Grenville will be held on Thursday, Oct 18th, 2018 from 6:30 until 7:30 PM in the North Grenville District High School Cafetorium.
The organization mimics the 100 Women Who and 100 Men Who Care groups, 1000 Kids North Grenville will give area kids the chance to give back to their community. Participants are between 6 and 16 years of age, and must live within the North Grenville region. Younger/older siblings and parents are welcome to come to watch the meetings.
At 100 Kids North Grenville meetings, kids will meet new friends, but also have the opportunity to learn about local charities and then use their time, money and talent to support local charity and make a positive difference in their community.
By nominating, presenting, and contributing to the selected charity at each quarterly meeting kids will be empowered to make decisions that directly affect people in their neighborhoods.
100 Kids North Grenville invites children and youth from all over the municipality to gather 4 times a year, each bringing $10 of their own spending money. All members are welcome to nominate a charity of their choice for an upcoming meeting. If selected, the child or youth who nominated the charity will be requred to give a 3-5 minute presentation to the group. After the presentation on the 3 different charities or non-profit organizations, all members present will vote on the organization of their choice. The charity with the most votes gets the donations received on that evening.
Upon joining 100 Kids NG as a member, your donation will be given directly to charities and non-profits. You must agree to fulfill your donation commitment even if you did not vote for the organization selected by the majority. You will do your best to attend the meetings regularly and take part in the democratic process.
