NORTH GRENVILLE – Following public budget consultation meetings and community request presentations last November, the Municipality of North Grenville will be hosting two Public Open Houses to present and receive public input on the draft 2020 Budget.
“The Open House is an opportunity to engage with community stakeholders and residents to view the draft 2020 Budget and to provide feedback,” said Gary Dyke, Interim Chief Administrative Officer. “Municipal staff will incorporate all input from residents in a report to Council for their consideration as part of the process for the development of North Grenville’s first ever multi-year budget.”
The Open Houses will be held on January 28 in Oxford Mills and February 6 in Bishop’s Mills. Members of the public will have the opportunity to interact with municipal staff to review key aspects of the draft 2020 Budget from 6:00 – 6:45 pm, followed by a short presentation by the Director of Finance. Following the presentation, residents will have a further opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
“Council is aware of the significance of this budget exercise in terms of creating a longer term plan for current and future investments – both to advance the quality of life in our community, and improve municipal operations. We really encourage residents and businesses to take this opportunity to provide their feedback,” added Mayor Nancy Peckford.
A Budget Feedback Form will be available online until February 7 to provide those members of the public who cannot attend the meetings an opportunity to provide their input.
The draft budget will be available on the Municipality’s webpage on Monday, January 27, 2020 at: www.northgrenville.ca/budget.
