Brockville – Evenings are brighter on a stretch of the Brock Trail these days.
Nine new solar lights, on 10-foot posts, are installed and operating on the St. Paul Street to King Street segment of the Trail.
The lights are part of the Brock Trail committee’s long-term plan to provide solar-powered, motion-sensor lights along the 12-kilometre walking/cycling/running route through Brockville, a safety initiative that has received the backing of the Brockville Police Service board.
Seven lights were installed on the Tom Dailey Bridge last year, raising to 16 the total number installed so far.
The Light Up The Brock Trail fund-raiser is underway and donations may be made at: https://www.gofundme.com/light-up-the-brock-trail
