Brockville – Brockville Police responded to a noise complaint on Millwood Avenue just before 10:00pm on Tuesday night.
Once police arrived they say they recognized the male and female involved. The 30 year old man was on conditions from a previous release order to not be at that residence.
Police went on to say that the man barricaded himself in an upstairs bedroom with a weapon. He then allegedly made threats to harm himself and police.
The Brockville Police Service Emergency Response Team along with the Ontario Provincial Police East Region Tactics and Rescue Unit were able to negotiate a peaceful surrender almost five hours after the incident began.
As a result the man from Prescott was charged with Domestic assault, mischief under $5000 and two counts of failing to comply with conditions of a judicial release order.
Police say he was held for a bail hearing.
