Local Shoppers Drug Marts Recognizes the Importance of Supporting Women’s Health

Brockville – For those that missed donating to the Women’s Health Campaign held at Shoppers Drug Marts in Brockville and Prescott, there is still time to donate.

In addition to this campaign, pharmacists Carolyn Burpee (in photo) and Mark Leslie are sponsors of the Women with Heart, Girls Night Out, taking place on Thursday, November 2nd at the Aquatarium in Brockville.

Tickets are $100, in support of Brockville General Hospital’s Cardiovascular Program. There will be cocktails and great appetizers. Please note that comedian Deborah Kimmett, an author and Second City alumna will keep the audience in stiches with laughter.

“I thought it (Women with Heart), was a great idea,” said Carolyn. “As women, we tend to have so many responsibilities now days. A lot of us are looking after spouses or parents. I thought it would be a fun night and we (at Shoppers Drug Mart) are all about health. As well, eighty per cent of our customers are women and I thought it was a good way to give back (to the communities). Who doesn’t need a good laugh!”

Seating is limited and tickets are selling fast. Don’t be left out, call 613-345-4478, as laughter is the best medicine.
