Brockville – Leeds & Grenville Interval House held their Kick-Off Rally for the 16 Days of Action against Gender Violence last Friday afternoon at Courthouse Green in Brockville.
As well the Trees of Courage at Courthouse Square were officially lit up as part of the Shining the Light on Violence against Women.
The LGIH are selling purple lightbulbs for $6 each, strings of bettery operated tiny led lights for $10, and limited edition, unique to Leeds and Grenville, beautiful Shine the Light lanterns with purple led lights selling for $25.
Wrapped in Courage Purple scarves are $10-$20 each. New this year are purple neckties selling for $15. Help sponsor the lighting of our Trees of Courage by donating $1.00 per bulb to our Shine the Light fund.

Charity Rocks benefit Concert- December 1st:
Join bands EASY Electrified Blues, Healy & Orr, and Mark Bergman for an evening of excellent music at the Brockville Legion. Proceeds support LGIH. Show begins at 7pm. Tickets are $15, available at firstname.lastname@example.org
National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women- December 6th:
LGIH are joining the Victim Issues Coordinating Committee (VICCLG) in organizing a commemorative vigil on December 6 th , 4:30-5:30 pm at the Women’s Monument, Blockhouse Island, Brockville to honor the lives of women and girls who are impacted by, or have been lost to violence, and to remember the women killed at L’Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal.
