Leeds Grenville Small Business Enterprise Centre Launches Summer Company 2020

Brockville – The Leeds Grenville Small Business Enterprise Centre proudly launches its annual Summer Company program on June 3rd, 2020. The launch will be virtual this year and be done over Zoom. This is a particularly special year for the small business centre as it celebrates 20 years of delivering the Summer Company program. A Birthday Bash is planned for August 20, 2020.

This year 6 young entrepreneurs in Leeds Grenville will experience being their own boss this summer. The number is slightly less because of the effect of COVID-19. The entrepreneurs will use their creative genius to successfully operate their businesses this summer.

The Summer Company is funded by the Government of Ontario. The program provides hands-on business training and mentoring. The students are awarded up to $3,000. These funds help enterprising young people start up and run their own summer business.

The participants will receive:
• An award of up to $1,500 in early summer to help with business start-up costs, and an additional $1,500 award in the fall upon the successful completion of their Summer Company business and proof of returning to school
• An opportunity to meet every 2 weeks with a local business mentoring group for support and advice on operating their summer business.
