Brockville – The Leeds Grenville Small Business Enterprise Centre is pleased to announce the completion of the 7th round of participants of the Starter Company Plus program.
This program assists businesses in existence for 1 to 5 years; a business looking to expand or an entrepreneur looking to purchase an existing business. The program is funded through the Province of Ontario as part of the economic strategy that strengthens job creation in an innovation-driven economy.
To qualify for the Starter Company Plus Program you must be:
- 18 years of age or older
- an Ontario resident and Canadian citizen (or permanent resident)
- not attending school full-time or returning to school
- able to contribute 25% of the grant in kind or cash
The 6 month program includes:
- one-on-one guidance from a Small Business Enterprise Centre advisor
- Business plan workshop, coaching and mentorship
- Up to $5,000 grant

Krista Henderson, Bubbles and Bombs Bath Boutique and The Just For Me Box
What started as a hobby in 2015 has turned into a full time business for Krista Henderson. Krista hand makes bath and skincare products from all natural ingredients. Over the course of selling her products at local craft shows she was often asked how to get her products off season. This is how the Just For Me Box came to exist. The box ships to subscribers quarterly during each season and the boxes are themed for that season. It has a large focus on handmade items from local artisans and businesses. Lorraine Casselman, St. Lawrence Neurofeedback
Lorrain is a Certified Neurofeedback Trainer Neurofeedback is a non-pharmaceutical treatment with no known side effects. It can help clients with anxiety, stress, insomnia, depression, chemo brain, PTSD and ADHD. Neurofeedback can also improve focus and concentration. Students, athletes and business people often find it gives them an edge. Neurofeedback began in the 1950s through the work of Dr. Barry Stearman at UCLA using real-time displays of brain activity to teach the brain how to self-regulate. Sessions typically last about 35 mins and the number of sessions required are determined by the practitioners and the client.
