Brockville – The 7th annual Pride Parade was held this past Saturday in Brockville, wrapping up a week of activities for the annual Pride Week.
Many people lined King Street to watch the parade which featured over 400 people who marched down King Street in Downtown Brockville, finishing up at Hardy Park where the Pride Festival was held.
Over the week several events were held including the raising of the Rainbow Flag on Monday, Rainbow Games Night on Tuesday, Pride Potluck on Wednesday, a Pub Crawl on Thursday night and the Miss Brockville Pride Competition on Friday night.
Everything wrapped up on Saturday night with the Pride wrap up party held at the BAR.
The event that started out with just the parade six years ago, faced controversy when it first started, but has since expanded to a week long event and has become a cultural and tourism event each year!
