Large Crowd Despite Rain For Canada Day 150 in Brockville – VIDEO

Brockville – Despite the rain, heavy at times on Canada Day, the Brockville Canada Day 150 celebrations still saw a large crowd come out to Courthouse Green for the annual celebrations.

There was the parade from city hall to Courthouse Green, the singing of Oh Canada with AJ Benoit, followed by speeches from local dignitaries.

As well the annual Community Recognition Awards were presented to four deserving individuals. Kimberly Heath, pastor at Wall Street United Church & Marianne Emig Carr, pastor at First Presbyterian Church for their work with the Refugee Assistance Committee; John Taylor who heads the Brock Trail Committee and Alan Medcalf who is involved with YMCA of Brockville and Area, Brockville Cycling Advisory Committee & the Brock Trail Committee.

As well service awards were awarded to members of the Brockville Infantry Company during Saturday’s ceremony.

The celebrations wrapped up with the traditional serving of the birthday cake, supplied by Taits in Downtown Brockville.
