Search Warrant Executed in Montague Township: Man Charged with Over a Dozen Offenses

CSCU IS AN INVESTIGATIVE UNIT COMPRISED OF OFFICERS FROM THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE ORGANIZED CRIME ENFORCEMENT BUREAU AND OPP DETACHMENTS IN EASTERN ONTARIO

Leeds & Lanark – On March 19th 2019 members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – (CSCU) Community Street Crime Unit (Leeds-Grenville & Lanark Unit) assisted with the Emergency Response Team (ERT) served a Search Warrant at a residence/property on Queen Street in Montague Township (ON).

Bradley GARIEPY (28) was arrested in possession of a significant quantity of stolen property obtained from various hardware stores and construction sites in Eastern Ontario. He was transported to the Leeds County OPP (Brockville) Detachment where he was held for Bail hearing.

A search of the property and associated vehicle(s) resulted in the following items being seized:

  •  Various roofing construction supplies and tools including other general items:
  • To name a few, motorized equipment such as;

Commercial pressure washer;

400lbs propane tanks;

Commercial heaters;

Eaves though supplies;

Brand new push lawn mower;

Brand new rototiller;

Garage gas furnace;

Metal framing studs;

Total projected value exceeding $5 ,000.00

A follow-up investigation revealed that other stolen items were still present at the location searched by police on March 19th 2019. As a result, CSCU investigators obtained a secondary search warrant. On March 21st 2019, the investigative team executed the second search warrant and successfully retrieved other stolen merchandise.

Bradley GARIEPY was charged with nearly a dozen of criminal code offences for the following offences:

  • Possession of stolen property obtained by crime, contrary to section 354 of Criminal Code of Canada
  • Theft, contrary to section 334 of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Break and Enter, contrary to section 348 of the Criminal Code of Canada

 Bradley GARIEPY was held for show-cause hearing on March 20th 2019. He was later released on a recognizance.
