CARLETON PLACE – The Lanark County OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) at a residence in the Town of Carleton Place resulting in the seizure of over 150 grams of cocaine and more than $1000 in cash.
Darcy WARD, 30 years of age, and Christina PORTEOUS, 24 years of age, both residents of Carleton Place, were charged with Possession for the purposes of trafficking a schedule 1 substance (cocaine) contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. WARD was also charged with possession of property obtained by crime.
WARD was held in custody pending the result of a bail hearing to be conducted on April 8, 2019
PORTEOUS was released on a Promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on May 27, 2019.
