Just Four Weeks Left For Lumina Borealis

Event wraps up season on February 19th!

Kingston – There’s just four weekends remaining to experience Kingston’s captivating winter event: Lumina Borealis at Fort Henry. Lumina Borealis is open Friday through Sunday until the Family Day weekend, when the event comes to a season end on Monday, February 19, 2018. Timed entry tickets are available online at http://www.luminaborealis.com.

While cold temperatures earlier in the month were keeping everyone inside, now is the perfect time to get outdoors and plan a visit. Lumina Borealis offers a stunning, multi-media, night-time experience inspired by magical childhood dreams and winter landscape memories. As you move through the Fort Henry ditch your movement or voice will activate animations that dynamically appear on the walls of the Fort. At the end of your journey, in the Lower Fort, you can activate the Frozzinator by singing or throwing golden snowballs that reveal a snowy finale. It’s nothing short of spectacular!

New expanded warming areas featuring more fire pits and warming huts provide the perfect place to stop before having a beverage and a treat at the new Lumina Borealis Bakery featuring home-made baked goods by Fort Henry’s baker Wanda Putnam. Specialities include soft pretzels (plain, cheddar & garlic or chocolate drizzle) baked in Fort Henry’s historic wood-fired ovens, cookies, cinnamon buns and more. Top it off with a hot apple cider, a Lumina hot chocolate or take the chill off with a Hot Toddy. Get creative at the new Shadow Wall and Snow Sketch Hut, and stay connected by charging your phone in the Ontario Power Generation sponsored charging hut.

Self guided tours operate with timed entry departures every 15 minutes. Advance ticket purchase is highly recommended as entry is for specified tour times with managed capacity.

Check website for exact dates, times and to purchase tickets at http://www.luminaborealis.com. Regular Pricing: Adult/Senior $16, Youth $12. Children 5 years and younger are free. All prices are plus HST and administration fee.

Special Lumina Borealis overnight packages are available through participating Kingston hotel accommodation partners.
