Lansdowne – The Ignite Inspiration Tourism Summit featuring Carol Greenwood & Guy Laflamme is being held this Friday, November 24th at the Lansdowne Community Building.
It is being hosted by the Township of Leeds & 1000 Islands and runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm and will provide learning and networking opportunities for all. The day includes keynote speakers, a networking lunch, and a facilitated panel discussion with industry experts.
There is a full line-up with representation across multiple regions: The Opinicon Resort, Red Fish Cottages, Frontenac Arch Biosphere, 1000 Islands Kayaking and the Royal Theatre. In addition, there will be industry experts available to provide support mechanisms and creative marketing ideas to this sector from RTO9 – The Great Waterway, Ministry or Tourism and international access from the 1000 Islands International Tourism Council.
There will be two tenured experts as key note speakers: Carol Greenwood of Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) and Guy LaFlamme from Ottawa 2017. Each bring a wealth of knowledge with over 25 years of experience and will focus on direct support for the local area.
The aim is to strengthen and grow the capacity of the local tourism providers by helping them learn unique marketing ideas, create bundle experiences, and seek out specific funding opportunities with the sharing format, the key takeaways for the Township staff are to have a better understanding of this sector’s needs and to enhance what the township can offer through policy development.
With the ultimate goal to provide learning and partnering opportunities for all, they will have an extended networking lunch, catered by Wendy’s Country Market, featuring locally sourced foods.
