Grenville County – Here is the weekly police reports from the Grenville County OPP ending July 14, 2019.
OPP AND PARAMEDICS RESPOND TO AN UNCONSCIOUS MALE
NORTH GRENVILLE – On January 12, 2019, shortly after 8:00 a.m., officers from the Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded with North Grenville Fire & Paramedics to an unresponsive male at a job site.
The male aged 49, was pronounced deceased at scene. A post mortem is being conducted to determine cause of death. No foul play is suspected at this point.
CARDINAL – On June 13, 2019, at approximately 2:00 a.m., an officer from Grenville County OPP conducted a traffic stop on County Road 2 in Cardinal, Ontario.
Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Gerald RENSHAW, aged 53 of Cardinal, Ontario, was arrested and is charged with;
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (C.C.)
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to s. 320.14(1)(b) of the C.C.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on August 9, 2019.
MERRICKVILLE/WOLFORD – On June 13, 2019 around 7:30 p.m., officers from the Grenville County OPP were called to assist Lanark County EMS who were at the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Wolford Centre Rd where a male was ejected from a vehicle. The male was located at his residence nearby. Investigation indicated that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.
The male refused to comply with the breath demand upon request from police.
Craig CRAWFORD, aged 45, from Wolford, Ontario, was arrested and charged with;
Failure or refusal to comply with demand contrary to s. 320.15(1) of the Criminal Code.
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on August 2, 2019.
THEFTS FROM VEHICLES
EDWARDSBURGH/CARDINAL – On July 13, 2019 around midnight, Grenville County OPP responded to reports of thefts from four motor vehicles on County Road 44, Edwardsburgh, Ontario. The culprits removed cells phones, personal identification, prescription medication and other items from unlocked vehicles.
Again, we urge the public to lock their vehicles and not leave anything valuable inside.
BREAK AND ENTER
PRESCOTT – On July 14, 2019 around 08:30 a.m., Grenville County OPP responded to a report of a break in at a property on Wood Street East, Prescott, Ontario. Investigation indicated that sometime overnight, culprits entered a garage and removed various tools from the location.
The culprits left behind a black leather vest and black and white hoodie.
