Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from June 15th to 17th, 2018.
JUNE 15, 2018:
On June 15, 2018 at about 1:00 A. M. a Gananoque Police Service officer observed a male party loitering at the back of a King Street East business. As the officer approached the male the officer discovered that the person had entered a fence enclosure and was rummaging through items located on the property.
A 36 year old Gananoque resident was arrested and charged with break and enter of a place with intent to commit and indictable offence. The male was also charged with failing to comply with a previous probation order and an undertaking given before and officer in charge.
A warrant of committal was on file from the Kingston Police Force so the male was released from the custody of the Gananoque Police Service on a promise to appear and an undertaking before an officer in charge into the custody of the Kingston Police Force officers.
JUNE 16, 2018:
As a part of an ongoing investigation into a harmed home invasion that occurred in Gananoque on February 10, 2018 the Gananoque Police Service arrested a 29 year old female resident of Gananoque.
The female was charged with obstruct of Justice and Public Mischief in-regard to her involvement with the incident. It is alleged she provided false information to the investigating officer in an effort to absolve herself of any responsibility for the incident and mislead Gananoque Police Officers in the course of the investigation.
The female was released on a promise to appear and an undertaking before an officer in charge and will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.
This investigation is ongoing and other arrests are expected in the near future.
JUNE 17, 2018:
Officers of the Gananoque Police Service were contacted to assist paramedics who were called to a King Street East apartment. Upon arrival officers discovered a male party had received numerous serious lacerations to his facial area and the male was transported to hospital for treatment.
Officers conducted an extensive search for the male suspect who was later found hiding in the rear compartment of a motor vehicle. A gun point arrest was affected and the male was taken into custody without issue.
A K9 unit was used from the Ontario Provincial Police to try and locate the weapon that was believed to have been used in the incident.
A 44 year old male party was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Utter threats to cause death or bodily harm and with two counts of fail to comply with a probation order.
The male was held for a show cause bail hearing.
