Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from July 14 to 22, 2017.
July 14, 2017:
On July 14 th 2017 the Gananoque Police were advised that a 23 year old female from Rockport had been involved in a physical confrontation with her ex boyfriend and another subsequent female on King Street East in Gananoque. The subsequent investigation determined the female accused had sent a threatening Face book message to the victim earlier in the evening.
The accused then located and approached the victim outside a King Street East business and punched the victim several times and also the accused smashed the victim’s iPad. When the victim attempted to flee the area, the accused ran towards the victim and punched him several more times in the back of the head.
As the victim attempted to flee the area, a number of known people attempted to calm down the accused at which time the accused punched a second victim in the mouth breaking the tooth of the second victim. As a result the accused was charged with Uttering threats, Assault, Mischief and Assault cause bodily harm. The accused was located and arrested and held in custody to attend a bail hearing in Brockville court.
July 17, 2017:
On July 17, 2017 The Gananoque Police arrested a 49 year old Gananoque man who was currently on previous release conditions to reside at a specific address, and as a result of the investigation it was determined he was not abiding by his condition.
The male was located, arrested, and charged with fail to comply with Officer in Charge Undertaking.
July 17, 2017:
On July 17, 2017 officer while on routine patrol observed an ATV travelling on several streets within the town of Gananoque.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and as a result a 25 year old Gananoque man was charged with operating an ATV on a highway, operating an ATV on a highway without a license, and travelling the wrong way on a one way street.
July 18, 2017:
On July 18, 2017 officers of the Gananoque Police Service conducted a traffic stop within the Town of Gananoque. The female driver, a 47 year old Napanee resident, was known to officers as a suspended driver and was found to be on several conditions as a result of Theft charges in both Kingston and Gananoque.
The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the female for Breach of Recognizance as she was on conditions not to be out of her residence without her Surety.
Officers noted a number of items within the vehicle and upon further inspection they were found to be 14 empty video game packages determined to be stolen from a business in Kingston. The items were later located at a local pawn shop in Kingston.
As a result of the investigation the female is charged with Theft under $5000, Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, breach of Recognizance and breach of undertaking. The female was transported to the Gananoque Police Service and held for a bail hearing.
July 14 to July 22:
During the time period July 14 to July 22, 2017 officers responded to 153 (2135-2288) calls for service, attended 5 motor vehicle collisions, issued 26 provincial offence notices, and issued 20 cautions for various highway traffic act offences.
