Freezing Rain Warning Issued For All of Our Region!

Ottawa – A Freezing Rain Warning has been issued by Environment Canada for Brockville, Leeds-Grenville, Smiths Falls, Lanark, Morrisburg, Dundas, Ottawa and Kingston.

A period of freezing rain likely Tuesday night as well as risk of freezing drizzle overnight Monday night.

Freezing rain is expected to begin Tuesday evening and last for several hours before ending Tuesday overnight. Freezing rain over the Ottawa Valley could last longer into early Wednesday morning. A few centimetres of snow and ice pellets are likely before the freezing rain begins.

Hazardous winter travelling conditions are expected.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
