Firearm Seized from Vehicle

Brockville – A complaint of a possible impaired driver led Brockville Police to an improperly stored firearm in the rear of a vehicle in downtown Brockville on Tuesday.

At approximately 3:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon Brockville Police received a call from a downtown business of a possible impaired driving leaving their parking lot. A description of the driver and the passenger was obtained and 911 dispatchers relayed the
information to the responding officers.

Shortly thereafter officers located the vehicle at Centeen Park unoccupied with the keys still in the ignition and the suspects walking a short distance away.

Located inside the vehicle wrapped in a blanket was a shotgun which was seized by officers.

Two 31 year old Brockville area men were arrested and charged with taking a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful storage of a firearm. One of the men was also on probation at the time and faces an additional charge of Breach of Probation.
