Employment + Education Centre Fundraising Event with Olympian Karen Cockburn September 7th!

2nd Annual Tough Mother & Friends event being held on Saturday September 7 th , 2019

Brockville – The Employment + Education Centre is pleased to announce special guest Olympian Karen Cockburn will be attending and participating in the 2nd Annual Tough Mother & Friends event on Saturday September 7 th , 2019 at St. Lawrence Park in Brockville.

Karen is a four-time Olympian and three-time Olympic medalist in trampoline. She will join the activities and help with the warm up for the day. This event is in support of the Employment + Education Centre’s Homeward Bound scholarship fund.

Registration will take place at the East Pavilion beginning at 8:30 am and challenges will begin promptly at 9:30 am. (Rain or shine) Spaces are limited and pre-registration is required to ensure we have sufficient equipment for all. Email loretta@eecentre.com or call 613 -803-8794 to register.

Participants will take part in a series of fun physical and mental challenges planned and designed with the support of the following:

  • Choley’s Fitness & Wellness Centre
  • Robin Morgan Fitness
  • Snap Fitness

Minimum pledges of $50.00 includes all activities and refreshments. There will be a prize awarded for the person with the most pledges.

Sue Watts, Executive Director of the Employment + Education Centre, states that “The Homeward Bound program is having a significant impact on our community with women gaining a college education and securing employment”.

Furthering educational opportunities for mothers can change the trajectory of life for an entire family. All funds raised from this event will go directly to the Homeward Bound Scholarship Fund”.
