Prescott – A 36 year-old Elizabethtown-Kitley Township man is facing drug charges after an explosion at a former recycling plant in Prescott on Monday afternoon.
At around 5:35 p.m., Grenville County OPP, Prescott Fire Department and Leeds – Grenville Emergency Services responded to an explosion at an industrial building at 205 Churchill Road West in Prescott.
Police say a 30 year-old man from Athens Township was transported by ambulance with head and face injuries. A 36 year-old man was arrested at the scene for drug offences.
On Tuesday, Grenville OPP and the Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the Ontario Fire Marshall executed a search warrant at the unlicensed marihuana facility.
Police say they seized marihuana plants, cannabis resin, cannabis oil extract, marihuana bud, brick hash, cannabis gummies, cash, grow equipment, two trucks and a trailer.
Daniel Zachary BLABER, age 36 of Elizabethtown-Kitley Township is charged with Production of cannabis marihuana, Production of cannabis resin and Criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
The accused was remanded into custody by the Brockville Court of Justice.
The investigation is ongoing.
