







Brockville – This year’s Canada Day in Brockville started out with the annual Canada Day Run hosted by the Brockville Roadrunners.
The 1kn run started out around 8:45am followed by the 5k run which got underway at 9:00am. despite the humidity, there was a strong showing of runners for the annual event.
At 11:45am the annual Canada Day march from City Hall to Courthouse Green got underway, although much smaller then past years due to the extreme heat on Sunday.
The Canada Day ceremonies held on Courthouse Green began around noon with the singing of Oh Canada, a few speeches and two award presentations.
The ceremony wrapped up with the Brockville Infantry firing their rifles and the Canada Day cake.
Over at Hardy Park was the annual StrawBEARy Festival. It featured many vendors, food, live music and a teddy bear picnic.
The day wrapped up with the annual fireworks over Blockhouse Island.
