Canada Day 150 Being Celebrated in Seeley’s Bay on Saturday

Seeley’s Bay – The community of Seeley’s Bay always goes all out for Canada Day and for the 2150th birthday this year they will not disappoint.

Events kick off at 8 a.m. at Seeley’s Bay Centennial Park and include the Kids’ Canada Day Fishing Derby, The Amazing Race, Volleyball tournament, Karaoke, plenty of awesome kid’s activities, and so much more. The event will also include a parade at 4 pm. There will be a BBQ and of course amazing fireworks at dusk.


8am – Kids’ Canada Day Fishing Derby at Sunny Acres Resort & Marina, Kids Age 15 and under are invited to catch the Big One. Weigh-In is 12pm. More information available on-line, FREE

9:00am – 6th Annual “Cranberry Lake Challenge Cup” Tennis Match at Tennis Courts, Annual doubles tennis showdown. Seeley’s Bay once again challenges our friends from Brewers Mills.

9:00am to 10:00am – Ecumenical Church Service in the Pavilion. All welcome to join us in the Park.

All Day – A Canadian Souvenir Photo Opportunity. Take your own picture in one of the Canada Day photo boards. Don’t forget your cameras! Upload your pics to our Facebook Page.

All Day – Canteens throughout the Park

10:00am – Canada Day Volleyball Tournament at the Ball Diamond Outfield. Enter a team in the tournament. Contact Danny Roantree at 613.387.3397 or Lois Kennedy 613.387.3882 and register by June 28th

10:00am – Fur Feathers and Fins Family Farm “Rabbit Races” at the Pavilion.

10:30pm to 6:00pm – Vendor Market, Displays & Demonstrations throughout the Park

11:00am to 3:30pm – Children’s Activities & Entertainment in the Ball Diamond. Visit the Artist Station & Carnival-style games. Clowns, Tattoos (washable), Balloon Artists & Face Painters will be there too! Special appearance “Lily the Fairy”

12:00pm – Local History Displays

12:00pm to 4:00pm – Karaoke at the Tepee. Come on out & share your favourite song.

12:00pm – Canada Day “Search & Solve” at the Pavilion. Pick up your scavenger hunt list, hunt all afternoon and return to the Pavilion at
3:30pm with your items. Winners will be announced soon after.

1:00pm – Canada Day Paddle Pursuit. Find the Flag! Meet in the park by the docks. Kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, paddle boats or row boats can be used. Extra kayaks available if needed. Prizes!

1:00pm to 3:00pm – The Amazing Race Great Family Fun. Register at the Information Booth

1:00pm to 9:00pm – “Canada Day Events” for Kids Sponsored by Canadian Heritage. FREE

2:30pm to 3:30pm – Kid’s Canada Day Bingo at the Pavilion. Children are invited to play B-I-N-G-O. Win a prize! FREE

4:00pm – “Canada’s 150 in the Bay” Parade. Town Crier, George Williams will lead colourful Parade Entries through Seeley’s Bay celebrating Canada’s 150th Birthday. Parade participants are asked to meet at 3:15pm to be organized. Kids (Walking or on Bikes) are asked to gather in the Centennial Park parking lot. Senior and Dignitaries gather at Nest Egg. All other participants are asked to gather at the Drynan Way Plaza parking lot

After Parade – Canada Day Birthday Ceremonies at the Pavilion. Join us in Celebrating Canada’s 150th Birthday. Featuring the Town Crier,
Dignitaries’ Speeches and the National Anthem.

After Ceremonies – Birthday Cup Cakes by Too Nice to Slice – Enjoy the delicious cakes by Too Nice to Slice served by the members of the Seeley’s Bay Canada Day Committee.

5:00pm to Dusk – Local & Live Music Festival. Old Tyme Fiddlers & Backlash Musicians play all evening on the pavilion stage.

6:00pm – “Family Fun Games” at the Ball Diamond

Dusk – Fireworks, Town Crier, George Williams will open the illumination with the National Anthem followed by the Fireworks display created by The Seeley’s Bay Firefighters. Sponsored by the Community of Seeley’s Bay & all of our friends
