Brockville – Procter & Gamble are to begin marketing their Brockville facility. On May 24, 2017, Procter & Gamble announced that it was consolidating its production and closing their Brockville plant, with the anticipated closure some time in 2020.

Since that time the company has been focused on supporting their employees and providing them with guidance and advice on their options. The company has also been assessing their site and will now begin a marketing campaign to identify a purchaser. The 136 acre site has over 700,000 sq ft of buildings, including production, warehousing and packaging, office and laboratory space.

The City and other Provincial and Federal agencies and partners have been actively working with Procter & Gamble over the summer, assisting with their plans for their employees. During this time the company has also been assessing the market for their Brockville property and devising a marketing plan. The City will be actively assisting in the marketing of the site, as will the newly established St. Lawrence Corridor Economic Development Commission when it becomes operational in January 2018.

Mayor Henderson said “The City is pleased to be assisting Procter & Gamble with the marketing of this site, this is exactly the reason we have established the Corridor to promote the area and our key sites to attract manufacturing employment. Our objective is to find another company to come in and take over this site and to bring jobs back to the city. This site represents a significant opportunity in Eastern Ontario and we believe that it will attract a lot of international attention.”
