Winners of Brockville Public Library’s Oh Canada Art Show and People’s Choice Awards Announced

Brockville – The Galleries at the Brockville Public Library are celebrating the 150 anniversary of Canadian confederation with their “Oh Canada Art Show and People’s Choice Awards.”

Local artists were asked to submit artwork representing their vision of Canada, and the public was invited to vote for their favourite piece. The results are in and the People have chosen Northern Nights by Lindsay Greatrix as their favourite painting in the exhibit!

The vote count was nail bitingly close and there was a tie for 2nd place – 1930 Railway Tunnel by Sheila Goertzen and L’histoire du Canada a travers l’art by Rachel Buchner. Maggie Steele also received an honourable mention for her painting I am a Proud Canadian.

Along with bragging rights, the 1st place People’s Choice winner received $150 and $50 Hang Ups gift certificate, 2nd place winners received $100 and a $25 DBIA gift certificate.

Everyone can view the artworks in the Library galleries on the 2nd floor until the end of August.
