The BCP opened in 2009 and was designed to help patients recover from a heart attack, coronary stents, bypass and valve surgery, and or heart transplant. The goal of the program is to reduce future heart problems by helping patients make lifestyle changes, such as an exercise program, nutritional advice, stress management and smoking cessation. The program receives no government funding and relies entirely on funding by the public and through events such as “Women with Heart”.
