STOLEN VEHICLE FOUND AFTER TRAFFIC COMPLAINT

LEEDS – Members of the Leeds County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a stolen motor vehicle that led to numerous charges.

On January 3, 2020 just before 1:40 p.m. OPP officers received a traffic complaint regarding a vehicle all over the road, eastbound on Highway 401, Elizabethtown- Kitley Township. Officers from the Leeds County and Lansdowne offices worked together with Brockville City Police to locate the vehicle. Investigation revealed that the SUV had been stolen from the London, Ontario area.

The vehicle was located abandoned in a business parking lot on Parkdale Avenue. The driver fled the area but a suspect was found nearby. Bernard INGRAHAM, 28 years old of no fixed address was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Dangerous operation
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused was also charged with driving while under suspension as per the Highway Traffic Act and held for bail.
