Brockville – St. Lawrence College’s Brockville campus will celebrate the graduating class of 2017 in two convocation ceremonies on Friday, June 9. The ceremonies will be held at the Centennial Road Church in Lyn at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
This year’s convocation will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of St. Lawrence College and the Ontario college system, and will feature the Golden Grads. Members of the first graduating class of 1969 will be celebrating with the class of 2017 and will be dressed in golden convocations gowns as a symbol of this milestone.
SLC will confer Honorary Diplomas to Jim Cooper during the 10 a.m. ceremony and Mary Mansworth during the 1:30 p.m. ceremony for their contribution to our community. Mr. Cooper has been recognized for his excellent management skills and practices. He has gifted the Brockville community through his years of committed charity work and student mentorship. Mrs. Mansworth is a tireless community volunteer who has held leadership positions on several charitable community based organizations, and assisted in welcoming two waves of refugees to Brockville. The 10 a.m. ceremony will be held for students graduating from Schools of Business, Community Services, Justice Studies and the Applied Arts, Skilled Trades and Tourism, Online and Continuing Education, and the Centre for Corporate Learning and Performance Improvement; the 1:30 pm ceremony will graduate students from the School of Baccalaureate Nursing and Health Sciences.
