BROCKVILLE – Local business owner Mark Oliver has been nominated to run for the office of Mayor in Brockville’s upcoming municipal election.
A fixture of the Brockville community, Oliver has owned and operated PhotoVisions School Photography Company on King Street West for nearly thirty years. He has also been very involved in the local arts scene, most recently by co-founding the Uppity Improv Society, a Brockville comedy community theatre company. He has been involved in various volunteer leadership positions, recently acting as the Vice President of the Brockville Country Club. He has also been a long-time advocate for and strong supporter of the Upper Canada District School Board’s foundation to level the playing for families in the area, Champions for Kids.
“I’ve truly been a member of the Brockville community for my entire life,” explained Oliver. “I grew up here, raised my family here, and started my business here. I’m running for Mayor because I think that it’s really important that Brockville keeps moving forward, and I’m excited to share my ideas on how we can accomplish that.”
Oliver is hosting a campaign launch event on Friday, July 20 at 7 pm at Luna Pizzeria. All are invited to attend.
The municipal election will take place on October 22, 2018.
