Local Shoppers Drug Marts prescription for a “Girls Night Out” brings in over $25,000 for Brockville General Hospital’s Cardiovascular Program

Brockville – Laughter is the best medicine. And laughter flowed at the November 2ndWomen with Heart” event held at the Aquatarium.

The local Brockville, and Prescott, Shoppers Drug Mart locations graciously sponsored this unique event idea that coupled Shoppers Drug Mart’s “Growing Women’s Health” campaign with the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation’s “Women with Heart” event that raised over $25,000 for Brockville General Hospital’s Cardiovascular Program.

Carrie Hands, former client of the hospital program, hosted the evening’s event that featured wine, samplings of delicious appetizers and the humorous entertainment of Second City Alumni and comedian, Deborah Kimmett.

The prescribed remedy was effective, as many left with smiling faces. All-in-all it was a very delightful and meaningful evening.

The Brockville and District Hospital Foundation express their thanks to the sponsors as well as to the participant’s overwhelming support for this non-government funded program.
