LEEDS AND GRENVILLE – The Tenth Annual TD Canada Trust Women’s Hockey Tournament for Girls Inc. is scheduled for this Friday, March 29th – Sunday, March 31st 2019 at the Brockville Memorial Civic Centre. This tournament offers a range of divisions, including recreational and competitive divisions and close to 200 women playing hockey to support our empowering programs and workshops for local girls – that inspire them to be strong, smart and bold. Tournament play kicks off at 4:30pm with two local teams, Keystorm Krunch and The Flyers taking the ice. There is no admission fee and the public is very welcome. Come be part of the excitement.
In conjunction with this event, we are raffling off some fantastic prizes to be drawn at the tournament on Saturday March 30th. Prizes include a 50” RCA Smart TV valued at $500 donated by The Brick, a Kronenburg 1664 Bar Fridge valued at $400 donated by The Red George Pub, Red Recycled Plastic Adirondack Chairs valued at $350 donated by Brockville Home Hardware Building Centre and a Loblaws $100 Gift Card donated by O’Reilly’s Your Independent Grocer. Please contact Girls Inc. at firstname.lastname@example.org or (613) 345-3295 to purchase raffle tickets or for more information.
We’ve got a fantastic silent auction that’s been well supported by local businesses going Friday evening from 4-10pm and Saturday from 10am-7:30pm. Everyone is welcome to drop by and place a bid. A few items of particular interest include an Ottawa Senators jersey, autographed by Cody Ceci, an original hockey themed painting by Christine Sloan, a pair of teal Adirondack chairs, gift certificates for local eateries, museums and attractions. There’s something for everyone.
Come cheer on strong, smart, and bold women, bid on our silent auction items and check out our raffle prizes. There is no cost to come cheer. This event is an important fundraiser for Girls Incorporated of Upper Canada.
All proceeds stay in Leeds & Grenville, supporting local Girls Inc. programs. In 2018, we inspired over 800 girls with support from fundraisers such as this annual tournament.
