Community & Primary Health Care (CPHC) to host an afternoon of country music.

Athens – CPHC is stretching out the afternoon of August. 25th for an outdoor country music event, featuring seven well-known country singers who will perform outside at Athens Centennial Park – located at 35 Henry St. in Athens (near Centre 76 Arena).

Country in the Park is a CPHC charity event with an amazing line-up of performances by Jordy Jackson, Danny Sylvestre, Craig Curtis, Brea Lawrenson, Julie Serre de St Jean, Angie Halladay, and Ron & Joy Edgeley. The Athens Lions Club together with the Brockville and Area Kinsmen, will be donating their services hosting a bar and BBQ for the event. All proceeds from the bar and BBQ will be designated to CPHC.  “Last year’s Country in the Park was a huge hit. At the end of the event everyone kept coming up and telling us how much they enjoyed it and that they can’t wait for the 2nd Annual.”  Says CPHC’s Fundraising Developer Crystal Sled.  “When planning our 2nd Annual I didn’t want to let anyone down…I knew I had to ask our performers from last year Craig, Angie, Ron & Joy and of course Jordy. Then I decided to stretch out the afternoon event into the evening, by adding new country performers like Julie Serre de St Jean, Danny Sylvestre who is also bringing his band, and finthe very talented Brea Lawrenson.  With this line-up, the only disappointment will be from those who don’t attend.”

Event details… the gates will open at 10:00am, with performances starting at 11:00am.  The event will end around 9:00pm. Bring your lawn chairs/blankets to sit on, and perhaps a small umbrella for shade. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at CPHC Brockville (613)342-3693 ext. 2072, Blanchard’s Garage in Athens, Willards Bakery in Athens or online at Snap’d 1000 Islands.
