Brockville – What things might you be a bit curious about but have never had the chance to try? Let the Brockville Museum help you with that at this year’s “Counter-culture” edition of the annual Museum@Night series! Three uniquely themed events will be held on the last Friday evening of the month starting in March.
At these adult-only, after-hours events you can indulge your curiosity. All feature hands-on activities, music chosen to suit each evening by DJ Atomik, themed snacks, and a cash bar. Here is this spring’s line-up:
March 29th: 70s THROWBACK: DJ Atomik will be playing an array of the best 70s music while you “dance” around the museum hunting for answers to what Brockville was really like in the 1970s. We’ll also have 70s board games and toys, as well as make-your-own macramé and pet rock stations! Prizes for the best 1970s attire will be awarded!
April 26th: STEAMPUNK INVASION: Our popular History or Hearsay event is taking on a Steampunk theme: find out what happens when modern technology takes on the Victorian period and decide which object label is true, and which is pure fiction. We’ll also have a make-your-own steampunk accessory station and live Steampunk art demonstrations. Prizes for best Steampunk attire will be awarded!
May 31st: INKED: Got a tattoo? Or are you curious about the art, ink, history, or process? Someone will be getting inked live while you explore the travelling “My Story, My Tattoo” exhibit and try your hand at the art, or surprise your friends by sharing photos of your (temporary) tattoo at our photo booth.
All events kick off at 7 p.m. Get a great deal by purchasing your tickets in advance – all three nights for only $30 per person or $12 for individual nights (to be purchased by noon the Wednesday prior) or $15 at the door. Tickets are available through the Brockville Arts Centre box office or at the door.
