Brockville Police: Crime Prevention Week in Ontario

BROCKVILLE – This week is Crime Prevention Week in Ontario.  This year’s theme is “Building Safer Communities Together” and during this week the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police will be promoting and highlighting the importance of crime prevention as a means to achieving safer and healthier communities.

The Brockville Police Services support and participate in many crime prevention initiatives including our “Lock it or Lose it” campaign. Volunteers and students with the Brockville Police Service will attend parking lots and neighbourhoods placing “Lock it or Lose it” flyers on windshields reminding car owners to lock their cars when leaving them unattended. As we begin to get closer to the holiday season, and customers begin their shopping, we would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles, keep valuables out of sight, and park your vehicles in a well lit high traffic area whenever possible.
