Brockville Museum Seeks Student for Weekend Museum Assistant Position

BROCKVILLE – The Brockville Museum seeks a Weekend Museum Assistant (student)to greet visitors, perform sales transactions, carry-out light housekeeping and administrative duties, and other tasks as required at the Museum at 5 Henry St. The Weekend Museum Assistant will be an ambassador for the City of Brockville and will be responsible for assisting visitors and answering tourism-related questions. The position runs from Victoria Day Weekend to Labour Day, at an hourly rate of $11.25. Hours are Saturday 10am – 5pm, Sunday 1pm – 5pm and holidays 10am – 5pm. It is expected that the student hired will work rotating weekends throughout the summer.

This is a student position. The ideal candidate will have superior customer service skills and be a proven team player. He or she should posess a genuine interest in Brockville history and a willingness to learn. He or she must be reliable, self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision. Conversational French skills will be considered an asset. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and have experience working with people of all ages. Experience and competance performing sales transactions/handing money is also important.
