BROCKVILLE – The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce and Brockville and 1000 Islands Tourism is very excited to announce Wendy Van Keulen as the new Tourism Manager. Wendy will be starting on Monday Feb 27/17.
With an eye for marketing trends and a passion for creative design, Wendy Van Keulen loves to find innovative advertising strategies and has worked on many award-winning campaigns.
Wendy’s love for marketing began while working as a Store Manager for Mark’s in Burlington, finding advertising opportunities for the store through local festivals and community events. When she had the chance to pursue a career in the field, she moved across the country to the company’s head office in Calgary, Alberta where she worked as a Visual Merchandiser, and grew to take on the role of In-Store Marketing Manager. During her time in Calgary, she has worked on many successful marketing campaigns and played an essential role in developing the company’s merchandising standards.
After 14 fulfilling years with Mark’s, Wendy joined her husband of 10 years on a journey back home to Ontario. Settling just 15 minutes from Brockville, they received a warm welcome from the community and felt an instant connection to the area. They have enjoyed getting reacquainted with the province and exploring the Brockville area. This summer, among many other activities, they hope to unpack their scuba gear and spend some time in the water.
For her next challenge, Wendy is excited to embark on an adventure in Tourism with the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce. Rich in art and history, with captivating views of the St Lawrence, Wendy plans to use her marketing experience to promote Brockville as a premiere travel destination both visitors and locals can enjoy.
