BROCKVEGAS Fundraiser nets $11,000 for local St. John Ambulance

Brockville – The communities of Leeds, Grenville, and Lanark joined forces last week to raise an astonishing $11,000 in support of St. John Ambulance. The non-profit organization held a charity casino night on November 9,
2019 at the Brockville Convention Centre.

“We are fortunate to enjoy outstanding community support for this annual event…they made sure that our local St. John Ambulance has the money they need to cover a wide range of expenses,” said branch manager Deborah Coligan.

The 175 supporters at Brockvegas enjoyed a buffet meal, played casino games with “funny money”, and bid on a silent auction.

“We are so grateful to the dozens and dozens of local business owners who gave such generous donations to our silent auction,” said Margaret Wicklum, chair of the local St. John Ambulance branch.

Quick facts:

• All donations to this branch stay in our community.
• St. John is a “not for profit” organization. We don’t receive any government funding to support our
activities and programs in your community.
• Our Medical First Response (MFR) Community Service Unit (CSU) is available to provide First Aid
coverage at community events across the supported region.
• St. John Ambulance is the global leader in the development and provision of First Aid and CPR
services.
