The Marianne van Silfhout Gallery will showcase the artwork of more than 35 Brockville secondary school students as part of the Annual Young Artist Exhibition. The exhibit will be on display at the Gallery, located on St. Lawrence College’s Brockville campus, from June 8 to July 7, 2017. The opening reception will be held on Friday, June 9th from 7 to 9 p.m.
The goal of this exhibit is to highlight the talent of emerging artists while reflecting the views, thoughts and opinions of today’s youth. This exhibition challenged individuals between the ages of 15-23 to explore and depict their view of the world around them. Visitors can expect to see over 70 two and three-dimensional works completed in a variety of mediums including, graphite, photography, oils, watercolour, acrylics and more.
The exhibition is part of the Gallery’s Community Outreach initiatives, made possible through the support of the St. Lawrence College Foundation and donors. Bursary awards are provided through the Marianne van Silfhout Bursary, which is exclusive to students pursuing the Visual & Creative Arts – Fine Arts program at the Brockville campus.
