Brockville – Over the years, Tim Hortons (Brockville Locations) has donated proceeds from their Smile Cookie Campaign to Brockville General Hospital (BGH). Tim Hortons (Brockville) donates to BGH not only because Tim Hortons is a community-minded organization; they also know that there is always a need for equipment items at BGH.
Before the 2018 Smile Cookie Campaign started, BGH identified the need for chemotherapy chairs for its Ambulatory Care Unit. With more-and-more patients receiving cancer care closer to home the requirement for chemotherapy chairs that were comfortable, and helped to create a relaxing environment, was why the chairs were at the top of the list. Tim Hortons (Brockville) was only too happy to help out. During the 2018 Smile Campaign, Tim Hortons (Brockville) sold 19,066 Smile Cookies, and BGH was able to purchase four chemotherapy treatment chairs.
Joan Simon, Executive Director, Brockville and District Hospital Foundation (BDHF), notes that the Foundation is extremely grateful for Tim Hortons continued support for BGH, “the purchase of four chemotherapy chairs for BGH’s Ambulatory Care Unit helps to create a comfortable, and relaxing, environment that allows patients to focus on getting well.”
