Brockville Police Reports – May 11, 2020

Brockville – Police reports from the Brockville Police Service may 11, 2020.

Drugs:

On May 9th , 2020 the Brockville Police arrested a 40 year old female on King Street. The accused had been stopped for a Highway traffic Act offense. The investigation led to the seizure of multiple drugs, including opiates. As a result the accused was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, as well as a Highway Traffic Act charge for driving while under suspension.

Provincial Animal Welfare Act (PAWS):

Police responded an address on Row Place on April 26th 2020 at 8:46 a.m. Officers were dispatched for an unrelated occurrence, but while at the residence they discovered a total of 10 adult dogs and 16 juvenile dogs. The officers were concerned about the living conditions of the animals and the care being given so they were seized. The dogs were turned over to Animal Welfare Services with the Ministry of Solicitor General.

A 42 year old man was charged with five charges under the Provincial Animal Welfare Act (PAWS):

1) Adult causing distress
2) 4 counts of adult standard of care

The animals have been returned to the male and the majority have been either adopted or sold. The male’s charges are still before the courts.
