Brockville – The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of the businesses, organizations and individuals who make a difference in our community.
We are pleased to announce the recipient of the 2018 Award of Excellence for Young Professional of the Year, Andrew Melchers.
Andrew is an accomplished professional engineer, a devoted husband and father of two. He is a true leader, a commissioned officer in The Brockville Rifles army regiment,currently as one of the regiment’s senior leadership cadre, and active in numerous community groups. He has actively volunteered his time with the Heritage Place Museum and is actively involved in volunteering within his community of Lyn and area. He is an active volunteer in trying to establish hiking trails and improving the quality of life for those who live in the village.
“He leads by example and is truly respected by his subordinates, peers, and superiors alike. A salient example was Andrew’s selection to represent Canada at the 2017 centenary of the Canadian Corps’ victory at Vimy Ridge. “ quoted one of his nominators.
We look forward to celebrating Young Professional of the Year with Andrew’s family and friends at the Awards of Excellence Gala being held on Thursday, November 8th at the Brockville Memorial Centre. We will also be announcing the recipients for: Business of The Year, Small Business of The Year, Community Excellence, and the Tourism Award.
