BROCKVILLE – Katherine Hobbs has been named the NEW Tourism Manager by the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce. On December 11, 2017, Katherine stepped in and filled a one-year maternity leave position, which recently evolved into a full-time permanent position.
“We are positively thrilled with the decision to welcome Katherine to our team and are inspired by the background and experience she will bring to the position at a pivotal time for Tourism in Brockville “said Pamela Robertson, Executive Director of the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce.
Katherine is an action-oriented natural leader and strategic thinker. She has worked in large, medium & small organizations in both private and public entities in Canada and in Africa. Her areas of expertise include communications, social media, public relations, economic and business development, marketing and policy development.
When asked how she feels about the year ahead, Katherine replied, “I am thrilled to be taking on the Tourism role permanently. I can’t imagine a better City to be given the honour to promote. Not only does it have a beautiful setting on the waterway, it has great attractions,dynamic businesses and wonderful, friendly people!”
Katherine was an elected Ottawa City Councilor (Kitchissipi Ward), for 4 years, representing 49,000 constituents. She has previously been awarded the Bravo Innovation Award, the Award of Merit and an Urban Design Award for the first public square in Ottawa.
