Brockville – The Rotary Clubs of Brockville held their annual fall food drive in support of The Brockville & Area Food Bank the week of October 3rd to 6th.
Last week Brockville Rotarians collected and sorted 16,625 lbs. of food. This amount is down over last year’s drive that collected 20,320 lbs. This amount was way off their 2018 food drive goal of 26,000 lbs. of food.
Food supplies are still needed and can be dropped off anytime at Superstore, Metro, Food Basics, Giant Tiger and Walmart.
As of last week, they have collected $32,805 in cash donations. This amount is up over last year’s drive that collected $17,000. Their goal for this Rotary Fall food drive is to exceed $36,000. They encourage community members who haven’t yet donated, to donate to the Brockville and Area Food Bank by mailing a cheque or donating on-line on Brockville and Area’s website through Canada helps.org.
Their goal of 26,000 lbs. of food and $36,000 in cash donations represents a 3-month food supply cost for the Brockville and Area Food Bank.
The Rotary Clubs of Brockville would like to thank our generous community and businesses for all of their donations.
