BROCKVILLE – Brockville Transit has partnered with Google Transit to integrate the Brockville Transit routes and stops onto Google Maps.
When a user searches a route; Google Maps displays the location of the stops nearest the start and end points of the route, identifies which bus to take, and shows the riders how many minutes the trip will take. When using a cell phone, the user can simply search the destination, and Google Maps will automatically direct the user to the nearest bus stop using the GPS location of the phone, including displaying the walk directions and duration to the nearest stop.
All transit stops are now displayed as an icon on Google Maps. Clicking on the stop identifies the stop name, routes serviced at the stop, stop times, and shows a Google Maps Street View image of the bus stop. So, a rider can click on the stop logo on Google Maps and quickly access all stop times at that location.
Please note that this is a static service based on the Transit schedule, and does not live track the buses. So, if a bus is delayed, that delay will not be displayed by Google Maps.
Riders are encouraged to call Operations Dispatch at 613-342-8772 to inquire about any delays.
