8th Annual Kinsmen Pizza Challenge Raises $10,500 Last Saturday Evening – VIDEO

Brockville – The Brockville Kinsmen Club raised $10,500 to be split between 7 local charities at this past Saturday’s 8th annual Pizza Challenge.

The fundraiser saw close to 180 people come out to the St. Lawrence College pub on Saturday evening to taste pizzas from 8 local pizzerias, Bernie’s Big Slice; Boston Pizza; Little Caesars; Luna’s; Pizza Hut; Pizza Unlimited; Tata’s and Gino’s.

Those in attendance had a chance to vote the best pizza for People’s choice while there were also 6 judges voting on judges choice.

Judges included, Matt VanderBaaren, Brockville Winter Classic; Brockville Police Chief Scott Fraser; Bruce and Eileen Wylie, 104.9 JRFM; City Councilor, Jeff Earle; and Dale Elliott, Hometown TV12.

Coming in first place for People’s Choice was Bernie’s Big Slice; second place was Luna’s and Tata’s came in third.

The Judges’ Choice winners were: First place, Gino’s; second place, Bernie’s Big Slice and third place, Luna’s.

The Kinsmen Club donated $2,000 to the local palliative care program; $2,000 to Light Up Brock Trail; $2,000 to Movies in the Park; $1,000 to the Brockville and Area Food Bank; $1,000 to Cystic Fibrosis; $500 to Raise the Roof and $2,000 to the sports award dinner.
