Brockville – The 4th Annual Trucking for a Cure was held on Saturday, this time out of Brockville, raising over $32,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Some 40 big rigs participated in Saturday’s convoy including the Ontario Provincial Police Eastern Region Command truck, Superior Propane, Tackaberry & Sons, Traveler’s Transport, who had 11 trucks participating and many more.
The convoy started out in Brockville at the Brockville Shopping Centre and travelled west on Highway 401 to Long Beach, then headed east on County Road 2 back to Brockville through Downtown Brockville, then continued east through Prescott, then north to Highway 401 and west back to Brockville.
The top fundraiser was Rick Sands, with $8,605 from G.Tackaberry & Son’s Construction.
The day also featured music by Shanley Road Band, a BBQ, bouncy castles and pony rides and local vendors.
The money raised on Saturday support over 200,000 Canadians living with breast cancer by funding the best and brightest researchers and providing the emotional support needed to those affected by this disease.
