Gananoque – The 4th annual 1000 Islands Writers Festival is being held this weekend from Friday, April 27th to Sunday, April 29th around Gananoque.

Enjoy up-close and personal events with Festival Patron Terry Fallis; Maureen Jennings; Kelley Armstrong; Barbara Fradkin; Ken Cuthbertson; Marissa Stapley; Katherine Ashenburg; Heather Smith; children’s author Vikki VanSickle; and author/illustrator Matt James.
The festival opens on Friday evening with a tribute to great Canadian storytellers who lead us through life’s more difficult moments. Join the festival’s honorary patron Terry Fallis as he takes you on a humorous and heartfelt journey into matters of life and death with the guest authors and Gananoque singer-songwriter Kevin Head.
This year’s festival also includes a Songwriters Series with local songwriters Kevin Head, Cliff Edwards and Jenica Rayne. The festival will host eleven Living Room Sessions, three Writers Workshops, a free Pirate Party Bonanza for families, two meal engagements, two special afternoon events and an evening celebration with Stories and Songs of the River.
