Torch Runs in Smiths Falls, Morrisburg, Prescott, Kemptville, Gananoque, Brockville & Merrickville!

Brockville – The 30th annual Law Enforcement Torch Run in Support of Special Olympics will be making its way around our region next week.

The first torch run for our region takes place this Saturday in Smiths Falls. It departs from the County Fair mall at 10:00am and finishes up at the Smiths Falls Memorial Centre.

On Monday, June 5th the torch run is in Morrisburg starting at 11:00am.

The Torch Run in Prescott starts at Walker House on King Street on Wednesday, June that 9:30am and ends at South Grenville District High School.

The Kemptville OPP Torch Run is also being held on Wednesday, June 7 starting at 1:00 PM at Kemptville Public School.

On Thursday, June 8th the Gananoque Police/Thousand Islands OPP Torch Run will be hedl starting at 9:00am at the Home Hardware on Stone Street and travel south on Stone east King Street then to the town limits.

The Brockville Police/Leeds County OPP Torch Run is also being held on Thursday June 8th starting at 10:45am at the Metro parking lot and ending at Home Hardware on Stewart with a BBQ.

The Merrickville Torch Run will be held on Thursday, June 8th starting at 1:30pm at Merrickville Public School.

The OPP and local muncipal forces in Ontario have been hosting Torch Runs for 30 years and have raised 35 million dollars.

Funds raised from the events are used to run Special Olympics Provincial and National Games.
