2nd Annual Be Healthy Health and Fitness Expo Held Over Weekend in Brockville

Brockville – The 2nd Annual Be Healthy Health and Fitness Expo took place at the 1000 Islands Mall, Brockville, on Saturday, January 6th and 7th with various fitness demonstrations, vendors and the Eastern Ontario Fitness Competition. This event was a specific fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters Leeds and Grenville.

Visitors were invited to the GNC Live Well table by Kaylee Villeneuve to learn about the various products.

From Trees to Treasurer, Gary Campbell, a wood carver showcased his many items including assorted turtles, fish, canes, life size squirrels, Santa Claus etched in a log and many more exquisite pieces.

From GoodLife Fitness, Kathey Peer and Dawn Summerville Picotte welcomed visitors to their booth to talk about training, whether personal, fitness, cardio, free weights, strength, immobility sessions or the benefit of the new Fascial Stretch Therapy.

On Saturday, January 6th, Crossfit, Brockville’s Elite Conditioning Centre personnel, left to right, Shawn Davidson, Hillary Barty, Courtney Shaffer and Leah Davidson were in Centre Court to answer questions about programs the Centre offers.

Near Centre Court was Tania deLuis of the Subramanya Yoga Centre holding a rack card and offering information about the Centre on Parkedale Avenue. On Sunday, January 7, Dan deLuis provided a 1 p.m. session in one of the Community Rooms.

For those that wanted to find out more about Big Brothers Big Sisters Leeds and Grenville, staff member Jeff McInnes was on hand to discuss the various programs available.

In attendance at the 2nd Annual Be Healthy 1000 Islands Mall Health and Fitness Expo, were Big Brother Big Sisters Leeds Grenville Board of Directors, from left to right are Andrew Cole, Diana Allan, Diane Darling-Wright and event co-organizer Doug Williams.

From Jack Attack Fitness, certified personal trainer Jacqueline Turner was available to talk about individual training sessions, group fitness sessions, weight loss program, Body Rock Barbell Classes, Boot Camps and other fitness classes.

She also took to the stage at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, January 6 to engage participants in Ladies Fit. Along with her personal or group fitness exercise classes, Jackie also provides custom weight loss programs with weekly menus, grocery list, recipes and monthly accountability.
