26th Annual New Year’s Eve Concerts in Downtown Brockville

Brockville – The 26th annual New Year’s Eve Concerts held at four churches in Downtown Brockville is set for Sunday, December 31st, 2017.

Join family and friends on New Year’s Eve from 7:00pm to midnight and listen to fantastic music in the historic churches of Downtown Brockville.

The concerts take place at four downtown churches, St. Paul’s Anglican, 12 Pine Street; St. John’s United, 32 Park Street; First Presbyterian, 10 Church Street and Wall Street United, 5 Wall Street.

THE SILVERTONES – 9:00 PM AND 10:00 PM AT WALL STREET UNITED
REACHING FOR THE TOP – (TWO TALENTED YOUG PIANISTS) 9:00 FIRST PRESBYTERIAN
PAT JOHNSON – 10:00 PM ST. JOHN’S UNITED
NATALIE EDWARDS – 11:15 PM AT WALL STREET UNITED

Need a break? The Lions Club Music Festival Committee will be serving hot beverages and eats from 6:30 to 11:15 pm in the Heritage hall at the back of Wall Street Church sanctuary.

All the churches will be open half an hour before concert time. Over the past 26 years of these concerts, your donations have raised over $150,000 for local charities. Our thanks to musicians and organizing committee, who all volunteer their services, our supporters who pay for the concert brochures,and the downtown churches for hosting us.
Before each concert the name of the charity selected by the church will be announced. Please be generous with your support.

7:00-7:45 First Presbyterian – BROCKVILLE PIPES & DRUMS
Beginning in 1931, Brockville Pipes & Drums have kept alive the Scottish piping tradition here in Eastern Ontario
for 86 years. In the summer they play monthly concerts on Blockhouse Island and perform regularly on both sides
of the Canada /U.S. Border.

7:00-7:45 St. John’s United – CR5 BLUEGRASS
Back by popular demand!Their musical range includes bluegrass, Americana, folk, country, pop to original material,
all of it played with their own “bluegrassified twist”. Anything goes with this talented ensemble.

7:00-7:45 Wall Street United – BROCKVILLE CONCERT BAND
Under the director of Lance Besharah this gold medal band performs a variety of show tunes, marches and more.

7:00-7:45 St. Paul’s Anglican – MURRAY GOLLEDGE AND FRIENDS
Crooner Murray Golledge shares well- loved songs accompanied by Dave and Tina Miles.

8:00-8:45 First Presbyterian – FIRST PRESBYTERIAN BELL CHOIR
Ten Handbell ringers play seasonal music using 37 bells and 37 handchimes.

8:00-8:45 St. Paul’s Anglican – RIVER HOUSE
Songs from Beatles to Nashville – Country, Rock, Folk & Fun. From 60’s to present day. Mark Bailey, Doug Kehler,
Jackie McGuire, Tina Miles, David Miles

8:00-8:45 St. John’s United – CR5 BLUEGRASS
This band has generously agreed to perform a second set to give more people a chance to enjoy their music

9:00-9:45 Wall Street United – THE SILVERTONES
The Silvertones consist of Chris Pearson, guitar and vocals, Ken Gallant, guitar and vocals, and Roger Wooler on drums. The Silvertones are a versatile trio playing hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, including rock and roll, blues/jazz, and ballads.

9:00-9:45 First Presbyterian – REACHING FOR THE TOP:
An entertaining look at what it takes, before graduating from High School, to become an ‘Associate of the Royal
Conservatory of Toronto’. Malcolm Gillis and piano students. Christina Bi and Mathew O’Halloran.

9:00-9:45 St. Paul’s Anglican – Dublin Road
Add a touch of Irish music to your evening! Eithne, Tony, John and Aralt perform songs from Ireland, traditional Irish dance tunes and airs on fiddle, banjo, tin whistle, mandolin, guitar and bodhrán

10:00-10:45 Wall Street United – THE SILVERTONES
This band has generously agreed to perform a second set to give more people a chance to enjoy their music

10:00-10:45 St. John’s United – PAT JOHNSON
Singer/songwriter, guitar and mandolin. Performing original songs in folk/blues style

11:15-12:00 Wall Street United Church – NATALIE EDWARDS
Natalie Edwards is an active member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church Choir. She has always had a great love of music
of all genres. Join her as she sings her way through a great variety of musical styles including pop, jazz, country,
Broadway, classical and sacred. She will be accompanied by Donna Matheson, Lloyd Younger and Neil Matheson.
